Geminor opens doors to Borg Havn logistics terminal

In April, Geminor held a special event to officially open its all-new RDF logistics hub in Borg Havn Fredrikstad, Norway. The occasion provided an opportunity for customers, offtakers, recycling companies and the Norwegian Environment Agency to see the new facility first-hand.

More than 65 people attended the function, which comprised informative presentations, site tour and a chance to follow RDF from a transport vessel to the logistics terminal. The new facility will be used for the management of baled RDF from the UK and will handle more than 120,000 tonnes of feedstock every year. Waste will be distributed to some of Norway’s leading waste recovery facilities.

Kjetil Vikingstad, Chief Executive Officer, commented: “The event was really successful, and we were proud to showcase our new facility to a number of key stakeholders. It was a real honour to welcome so many significant guests on the day.

“The facility itself will supply energy from waste plants across Norway with feedstock. The site forms an important part of our ongoing development in the region, and we’re looking forward to seeing its progress over the coming months.”
